Missionaries in Hawaii? You bet! In fact, our entire full-time volunteer staff have come to the Kona campus from all over the world. Our singles, couples, and families are committed to seeing transformation in all areas of society – both globally and locally. All of these YWAM volunteers need a place to stay when they are running schools here on campus and between outreaches that take them to the furthest corners of the globe.
We have just acquired a property of 128 apartments right next door to the campus called Kama’aina Hale Apartments. It’s exciting to see God’s hand in providing for the needs of the campus and its staff.
The apartments all have two bedroom, a full bathroom upstairs, with a kitchen, living area and a guest bathroom downstairs. 60 of the apartments are livable and occupied by people from the Kona community. The other 68 apartments have been gutted and are currently uninhabitable. We need to see them renovated as soon as possible, so that we can open them up as rental accommodation for our staff. We’re very excited about this as our staff often have problems finding accommodation that’s affordable and close to the campus.
All 68 of these apartments need new kitchens, bathrooms and doors to be installed. The ceilings and walls need to be repaired and drywalled, and the floors need re-doing. Basically it’s a complete overhaul for each apartment to be livable. The result will be a huge blessing to our Kona staff!
For this project we need MISSION BUILDERS to start ASAP!
Why Hawaii? Good question! We are strategically located as a springboard into the nations, bridging the Americas with the pacific islands and Asia. YWAM Kona is a crossroads to international missions!
